Allergens on menu.one

Allergens in the UK

Around two million people in the United Kingdom have a food allergy or intolerance, some of which can lead to life-threatening reactions. With this in mind, providing clear and accurate allergen information is essential when presenting food items to customers. The Food Standards Agency have published a list of 14 major allergens that all restaurants should include on their menus to help ensure food safety. On menu.one, all of these common allergens can be displayed on your menu, as per menu item.

The Information Your Menu Must Contain

  • Please ensure all allergen information is accurately presented.
  • menu.one will provide the relevant allergen symbols and key to you, and your customers.
  • If your menu item contains nuts, please differentiate between nuts and peanuts, as these are two separate allergens. Both of which are in our menu items allergen list.
  • Your menu uploads should always consider allergy management.
  • Work with your suppliers and conduct regular checks.
  • Inform your customers.

Don't risk prosecution.

If a customer has a severe allergic reaction and the allergen has not publicly been listed, you may be prosecuted.
